Senior Associate Solicitor

Profile

I am a dispute resolution specialist practising in civil and commercial litigation and employment law. I studied English & Art History and qualified as a lawyer in 1995, working with the professional negligence team at Lewis Silkin then moving to practice in Surrey, spending 13 years at Sheppersons as Partner, joining Boddy Matthews in June 2022.

I have broad experience of dispute resolution and employment law, acting for SME’s and individuals in many areas of civil and commercial litigation including contentious probate/disputed Wills, building disputes, property ownership disputes, professional negligence, landlord and tenant disputes, breach of contract, debt recovery.

I advise employers and employees on workplace disputes including negotiating settlement agreements, discipline and grievance procedures, as well as cases in the employment tribunal.

I am very focussed on achieving the best outcomes for my clients, and promote mediation or other alternative dispute resolution as a means of resolving disputes at an early juncture, avoiding unnecessary delay and costs. I understand that being involved in litigation is time-consuming and overwhelming for many small businesses, and I aim to guide clients through the process as efficiently and effectively as possible

I find great satisfaction in bringing clients’ disputes to a resolution which is an acceptable compromise for them. I bring understanding and objectivity to seemingly intractable situations, honing in on the essence of the dispute.

Litigation is expensive and therefore its imperative for clients to appreciate the potential costs and timescales.

I enjoy a healthy work/life balance to spend time with my family and the dog.  I am a keen walker, gardener and traveller.

Louise has a very professional and courteous manner and has helped us through difficult times. “
